Arsenal 'set aside £75m' for THREE Bundesliga signings: New boss to be backed immediately

The Gunners are searching for a new boss after Arsene Wenger stepped down.

The legendary manager spent 22 years at the club but has called time on his career one year into a newly signed deal.

And several names have been touted to take over including Luis Enrique, Massimiliano Allegri and Joachim Low.

But the hot favourite is Mikel Arteta, who is working as No.2 at Manchester City with Pep Guardiola.

And the Emirates outfit are wasting no time in the transfer market, with three signings being lined up before a new boss is even announced.

Head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been working hammer and tongs to get three Bundesliga signings over the line, using his contacts in Germany.

And the Sun have reported the three players to be Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu and Leverkusen keeper Bernd Leno.

Defence is a major area needing investment, with Per Mertesacker retiring and Laurent Koscielny out for a considerable amount of time.

There is also a feeling that Petr Cech will need replacing, with the legendary stopper approaching 36.

The Sun report that £75m has been set aside to secure the three signings, with Arsenal hoping to have all finalised by June 1.

It signals a mass shake-up at the club, who have now missed out on Champions League football two seasons in a row.

This year has been especially disappointing after losing 18 games in one season, as well as conceding 69 goals.
