Flroian Kamberi believes Neil Lennon can build another thrilling Hibs team if given the proper tools by his board.
The Swiss striker is adamant the Easter Road boss can cope with a summer of upheaval and make the club a force again in 2018-19 due to his eye for a player and his management skills.
But star duo John McGinn and Dylan McGeouch are unlikely to be around for any continental adventure with moves on the cards.
In addition, loan stars such as Kamberi, Jamie Maclaren and Scott Allan could all go if Hibs can’t reach agreement with their parent clubs.
And the hitman said: “The manager will try to take the club beyond fourth place but for this to happen, you have to invest in new players if some are going to leave.
“He has an idea how to build another team. He is a big manager who knows a good player and how to take him forward.
“But it is not just down to him. The whole club has to invest for him to get those new players.”
Lennon’s hopes of landing Kamberi on a permanent deal have been dealt a blow as the player’s Swiss club want him back.
Kamberi scored nine goals in 14 starts after arriving on loan from Grasshoppers Zurich in January.
He added: “It was a pleasure to work with Lennon. I felt his trust from the first day and if you feel that trust you can almost play your best in every game.
“I don’t think I made one step forward working for him – I made two. It was amazing. He is such a winner and the lads are the same, that’s why we had such a successful season.”
