Basic Motors is recalling greater than 484,000 giant SUVs within the U.S. to repair an issue that may trigger the third-row seat belts to malfunction.
The recall covers Chevrolet Suburbans and Tahoes, Cadillac Escalades and GMC Yukons from the 2021 and 2022 mannequin years.
The automaker says in paperwork posted Tuesday by U.S. security regulators that rivets that maintain the buckle to the mounting bracket on the left and proper aspect third-row seats might have been shaped improperly. The belts might not correctly restrain a passenger in a crash, rising the danger of harm.
The corporate says it isn’t conscious of any crashes or accidents brought on by the issue.
Sellers will examine the rivet heads and substitute buckle assemblies if wanted. House owners might be notified beginning September 26.
