KYIV, Ukraine—United Nations atomic-energy inspectors are heading to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear energy plant amid fears that fighting in the area has broken energy strains and prompted fires on the facility that would result in nuclear disaster.
The Worldwide Atomic Vitality Company stated Monday that a team led by its director general, Rafael Grossi, was heading to the plant to assess damage, verify security and safety methods and consider employees situations. The inspection will start on Wednesday and final till Saturday, in accordance with an inside Ukrainian authorities doc seen by The Wall Road Journal.
