U.S. Jobless Claims Fell Last Week in Tight Labor Market

Date:

U.S. staff’ filings for unemployment advantages fell final week, suggesting layoffs are holding at a low stage in a decent job market.

Initial jobless claims, a proxy for layoffs, decreased to a seasonally adjusted 232,000 final week from a revised 237,000 the earlier week, the Labor Division stated Thursday. Claims look like on a downward pattern after ticking up earlier this summer season.
